Question: Does enamel work well on soldered Argentium? Or do you have to fuse it. If you don’t use high temp solder on sterling silver, the enamel pulls away from the solder. does the same happen with Argentium? - Cora Answer: All silver solders including Argentium solder contain some zinc to |

reduce the melting point. Even the high temperature IT solders (US) or enamelling solders (UK) contain zinc. Zinc is the element that causes a problem when enamelling over solder. Fusing is the only option if you need to enamel over a construction join. Question: May do I make sure that something is made of Argentium Silver? - Ahmed Answer: XRF is the easiest way to check if it is Argentium 940. The XRF silver reading should be just above 94% Ag. The germanium reading should be around 1% Ge. The only other element present in Argentium is copper which is the balance of the alloy. XRF is not a perfect tool and it sometimes shows elements which are not present. It is best to get reading taken from several different points on the object being tested. If for example zinc or another element is consistently showing above 0.2%, you can be certain it is not Argentium. |

In realms where gems and dreams converge, each bench, a canvas where ideas surge. Orderly whispers or a spirited chaos, Argentium threads spun in shiny filigree gloss. A maker's spirit in clutter or array, where creativity blossoms, night or day. A haven of visions, be they grand or scant, each workbench, a flourishing, jewelled plant. With tools as companions, they craft and mend, in a space where art and soul beautifully blend. |
